Back to HOT< HOT on Monday the 27th. We had 30 players for a quick 3 man scramble. Dog days of summer have arrived.
Also, note that the Joplin Golf Club is holding two JGC Championship match play events. One for Seniors, and one for those under 55 years of age. You must be a JGC member to participate. You are only allowed to enter one event. The matches will start on August 13th. You will play versus a picked opponent, then the winner will play another winner from a match played during the same time span. Over the weeks if you win, you keep playing matches until the winner is decided. Contact the Pro Shop for details, and there are sign up sheets ready to go.
On another note: PLEASE CHECK IN WITH THE FRONT DESK BEFORE PAYING YOUR MOTLEY FEE. The course needs your headcount on the record, even though you are a member. Remember, the more people who play at Schiffendecker, the more the city council will appreciate and allocate funds for the course.
We need to address slow play. Two groups held up the group play by 40 plus minutes this week. I know everyone wants to play well, but we must keep pace with the majority. It is not fair to make people wait an hour to find out results and get paid.
Tips: Play ready golf.
Watch each others balls when hit.
3 minute rule is in effect for lost balls. That means 3 minutes per team. You don't look for two lost balls and get 6 minutes. Three minutes max .
Be ready to putt.
Put your clubs in the bag and move on to next tee.
We are limited to 9 tee times for the Motley Crew. That means 36 players can play. The FIRST 36 players to show up and paid, will be playing. After 36, any remaining players will not play.
Joplin Golf Club cards are on sale in the pro shop. The price is $25. This gets you a $10 discount on all Senior Shamble events.
